Langtang Frozen Lake trekking April 2007

I had experienced the Langtang trek to the frozen lakes. It was the first time trekking for me and I have to say that I want to do it again, here in Nepal possibly, The landscape was really amazing and the local people I met was really nice.

I have to say thank you Puru first and my guide Shyam. He explain me everything about local culture and traditions, and of course for helping me in the trek, he was necessary. He helped me in everything.

Langtang Valley Trek April 2007.

My sister and I went on the Langtang Trek. We had very Little time in Nepal, we prearranged everything with Puru.We exchanged a few emails and he always responded quickly and supplied all the information that we needed. When we arrived Puru met us at the airport and took care of everything, starting from the hotel in the Thamel and right through the trek, transportation and all. Everything worked as agreed, and there was no frustration or time wasted. The guide that he hired for us, Kacey, was fantastic, very experienced, professional and knowlegeable. He made the trip extremely enjoyable and safe. The porter that he arranged for us was smiley and pleasant to be with. The Langtang trek is beautiful, there are many tea houses all along the route so you can stop anywhere. The tea houses are equipped to supply tourists' needs and the people are very friendly.

There are no words to describe the view and scenery. We really had a great time and were sorry that we didn't have time for a longer trek. I am sure we will come back.

Annapurna Circuit

We the trek of the Annapurna Circuit has been an amazing experience, largely thanks to Puru and his guys, Kc, Mithu and Sujan. They made the trip enjoyable. Rewarding and were always there to help us out.
All the accommodation and meals were of a good quality and we always ate well to have enough energy for the next days trekking. The guys were also flexible with us so that we could make the trek shorter to accommodate a rafting trip.
I can whole thoroughly recommend Nepal Guide Trek and hope you are lucky enough to have as a good time as we did!!

Thanks Guys!!

Annapurna Base Camp Trekking April 2007

When I first arrived in the office I was only looking for a short trek. Knowing I am not really in a good shape presently. I am a 50 years old and I have been sick for the two last years. After discussing, Puru advised me I could go on a 14 days trek and reach Annapurna Base Camp. I hold myself ?we will see that on the way!!!
I finally made it slowly- slowly the two first days was really hard on me but my guide encouraged me to take my time and made all he can to the make it easy for me. I appreciate his patience and his sense of humor
Keshab was always taking care for everything., Watched for me on the way. Paying attention of hour I felt. As king hour I was going on east stop we had to do. Most of the time I can feel he already know hour I was going. He is warmful person and very affectionate. As he speaks a very good English also (better than me sometimes) we could speak about everything on the way. His attitude was also the same when we met other people in the different guest house and he made me comfortable with other guides and people in the guest houses, introducing me everywhere.
The Itinerary Puru Proposed me was really suited for me and Guide made it possible on the way.

Jiri to Everest Base Camp Trekking March 2007

Nima Sherpa is an excellent Porter. I would say he is probably the best In Nepal. He is hard working, caring, and generous; He is also a very keen walker He genuinely loves being in the mountains and exploring new places. I walked With him for one month from Jiri to Everest Base Camp and then back. On the way back to Jiri I also visited his family. They live in remote Sherpa village under very poor conditions. It was very authentic experience.

Thank you Puru for arranging it.

Village Tour - 2007

In January 07 I flew into Katmandu with my parents in the hope of finding some of the real Nepal. About 10 years ago I went to Pokhara with friends and trekked in the Annapurna region. Although the views were amazing the spark of the place was some what tainted by the shear number of trekkers. Given the fact that was 10 years ago and has most likely gotten worst, on this trip I wanted to find somewhere quieter and away from the Pizza cafes of Pokhara! Luckily I met Puru and once I had told him my mission he recommend, what he referred to as the 'village trekk' which included a night in his parents house. We booked up and within 2 days we were in a car to for only 2 hours from Katmandu before we started trekking. The treck was amazing and we quickly realised that we were in uncharted territories. Upon arriving in villages we were literally greeted by 100s of smiling school children and there were no mars bar sellers in sight! We spent a night sleeping over the Water buffolow at Purus house and his mother and sisters were so incredibly welcoming as well as superb cooks. The last few nights were spent at the Nature Camp which is literally perched on the top of a vertical cliff where the suns sets and rises along with the views of 4 Himalaya ranges were out of the world. We were in fact the only guest theres and again the owners could not have been more friendly. The Lonely Planet mentions this place but talks about it as a activity hand gliding place, none of this is going on and once you have been there you will realise the LP writer has obviously never been there! I have trekked all over South America but to be honest the village trek that Puru organised was one of the most amazing experiences in regards to actually mixing with the locals. In the four days we did not see one other trekker or tourist! Absolute paradise and its only just over 2 hours from Kathmandu. If you don't do it you are crazy, but pls don't tell too many people!

Have fun

Annapurna Base Camp Trek -2007

Annapurna Base Camp Trek -2007"So many travel companies, such little time to decide who the best is, and who will offer the most exclusively perfect experience. Well, I went to Kathmandu and spent a few days checking them all out and this company is where its all happening! Puru and his team have based all their trips on a wealth of experience having been there, and done it all! They have trekked all over Tibet, Nepal, Bhutan and India so they know what?s out there and exactly where to go. All I had to do was explain what I wanted and ?Bingo?- right before me appeared the perfect itinerary of everything I?d dreamed of seeing in the Himalayas. There was nothing to worry about- Puru organized everything?the food, the sleeping bag- even a donkey when my weary feet got too tired to handle the hills! Only one thing beat Puru?s passion for the area- and that was the awe inspiring scenery out there. Nothing can prepare you for the magnificent views and vistas that exist in this part of the world and my camera told a thousand beautiful shots. I will definitely be back to these parts and of course I will contact Puru again- he gets me moving where I want to go, I just relax and enjoy the ride of a lifetime."

Everest Gokyo Trek - Nov - Dec 2006

M/S Tham Pei Ting Puru as the organizer for my trip in Nepal was very efficient. Apart from the arrangements for the trek, he also helped me organize a trip to Chitwan National Park and subsequently my bus tickets to Pokhara. He also helped me sort out the reconfirmation of my plane tickets, Trekking Registration Certificate (TRC), etc, all which involve the bureaucratic process which when you are on holiday you do not want to hassle with. With his help smoothing out all these wrinkles I truly enjoyed my stayed in the majestic country of Nepal. He provide me a nice guide.

It was a fascinating trek to Everest Base Camp and Kala Pattar. Having my guide, Nahendra, with me made the trip even more memorable. He was a good companion on the trek, made sure I was always warm and comfortable (it is super cold for an Asian up there) and he always knew the comfortable lodges to choose. He even advised me on my food, depending on the freshness of the ingredients available. That?s why I had a good pizza up in Gorakshep and a delicious dhal bhat in Namche. Overall I did not have to worry a thing about the nitty gritty details of the trek because it was all arranged nicely. I cut short my trek for 2 days and there were no problems with flight tickets with Nahendra and the agency?s help. It is a primary concern for single woman travelers looking for trekking guides and I will highly recommend Nahendra.

Annapura base camp trek - 27 Oct - 07 Nov 2006

Annapura base camp trek - 27 Oct - 07 Nov 2006 Annapura base camp trek - 27 Oct - 07 Nov 2006 We have just arrived back from the Annapura base camp trek, what an amazing experience. We trekked for 10 days through small remote hill station settlements, green lush forest and rough mountain terrain but the best view was that of the snow capped mountains. Our guide was great singing all the way to the top with in tune Nepali songs, the whole trip was well worth the effort I would recommend Puru and his trekking company to anyone wishing to test there fitness and spirit, he can arrange the whole package for a once in a life time experience.... it will be a while until our next trek which gives us great joy because our aching bones need healing, take the chance see the sites and live for life..

We had a fantastic 3 week trip to the Annapurna. The weather was awesome and our porter was friendly and professional at all times. And he had wicked sense of humor which had us in laughter every day. He was also very good at keeping his distance from us which we requested at the start of the trek.

All in all fantastic experience, we would recommend this agency.

Annapurna Base Camp - 14 Days

All my thanks goes out to Puru for being such a fantastic guide. It?s been a year since I went on my Trek with Puru but I remember it like it was yesterday. What an unforgettable experience! The scenery of Nepal is absolutely amazing and the Nepali people so kind and genuine.

I couldn?t have expected more from a trekking guide. Puru was so enthusiastic about his job, he took the time to teach me about Nepal, it?s people and it?s flora and fauna. Everything. To have such a guide was a real privilege. To leave a country with memories and photographs is good. But to leave a country with a true friend is great. So thank you Puru. I have said it many times and every time I mean it. I sincerely hope to come back to your beautiful country.

Annapurna Circuit Trekking - 2005

Karen, New ZealandHello there. I Karen, from New Zealand and I have just completed The Annapurna Circuit with Puru as my Guide. There were three of us on the trip and we also had the strongest porter in Nepal, Hari.

Puru is a great guide being very knowledgeable about the history, culture, geography, politics and the people of Nepal. His English is excellent and he is very friendly and inspiring. Before the trek we had all the details provided in writing and they were discussed with us well so we all knew exactly what we were doing. Each evening, while trekking, we were told what to expect the next day in regards to terrain, time, weather, what to wear and carry etc. Puru was never wrong!

All our meals and accommodation were looked after by Puru. He was very attentive, making sure we got our coffees and teas as we liked them and at the times we wanted them. He knew the best places to stay and is obviously liked and respected all along the trekking routes. We had the royal treatment all the way. Actually, many other trekkers told us that we had the best guide. He was always very careful with our safety and looked after our health as we got into the higher altitudes.

The political situation did not affect us while we were trekking. There were some checkpoints to pass through but the soldiers and police were friendly and Puru handled all the formalities easily. We ended up walking the last 2 days out to Pokhara because the buses are not allowed to run, but it meant we got to see some more of the real Nepal. Puru has many contacts so he always seems to know what is happening and what is best for us to do.

If you are looking for a good Guide, choose Puru. I am confident you will be very pleased with him

Please feel free to contact me if you have any other questions at grifcole@hotmail.com

Cheers
Karen

Ali, England'My name is Ali and I come from England. I recently did a 2 week trek to Anapurna Base Camp with Puru. Puru was a fantastic guide, always helpful and eager to please. His english is very good so communication was never a problem. The whole trip was very well planned, we new exactly what we were going to be doing at all stages of the trip. Having a guide really enhanced the whole experiance as Puru is full knowledge about the country, the mountains and the people. He knows all the best lodges and sorted all the accommodation out for us, he also plays very good cards!
I had the time of my life whilst doing the trek, and I dont think it would have been half the experiance if I hadn't of had Puru there to guide me. Thanks for everything Puru, you're a legend!'

Annapurna Jomsom Trek -2007

Namaste Puru,
BettyVenderThe trekking to Jomson is a great adventure. There were beautiful highlights like Poonhill, the small villages and the people and children who live there the views and the challenging of the landscapes were magnificent.

During the trekking we got to know you better and it was nice having conversations with you in the evening. We very much appreciate the way you are helping the pour children and their families in your village. As a guide you are great and friendly thank you for always finding a nice and quiet room for us. You told us about your dream having your own trekking agency, and we wish you luck with making that come true.

Annapurna Circuit Trekking 2007

Hello to all
Eviatar Khen, IsraelWhen I was still in Israel planning my trip to Nepal, I thought I would do it alone, you know, for clearing the sole. On my flight from Bankok to Kathmandu I met Karen an amazing woman from New Zealand, 47 years old, and planning like me doing the Annapurna circuit. We became a quit strange couple me 23 years old and a woman who looks like my mother. In Kathmandu we met Edi, a 60 years old who wats to do the circuit too. We decided to stick together. When we thought how we want to do the trekking we thought if we want a guide of a porter. Then Karen said she know someone she is corresponding in email and has a good reputation as a guide and from a lonely planet recommendation agency.
We met Puru and fell in love immediately. We saw a man who realy likes his job and realy enjoying trekking and being with tourists. While the trek I was amazed about the experience and knowledge of Puru on the way, about the history, the culture of the locals and the surroundings. Puru treated us like kings, took care of every small thing from our health (I got a little altitude sickness and he took care of me very calmly and affectedly), our accommodations, and food. All we had to do is enjoy the trekking and the marvels landscape of Nepal.

But guides like that are many. The reason I am writing this letter because Puru is a special man. Before he is a guide who do his job, he is a human been who really care about the life of the locals and trying by the tourism to develop the locals and help the poverty. In addition he is very ambitious and that?s makes him a great man. After the trek I didn?t regretted I didn?t done it alone, I had the pleaser and honor to do the trek with Puru and I?m sure he will be a great man in Nepal one day. Wish you all the best and don?t mss Nepal it was one of the most important experiences in my life.

Annapurna Circuit trek

Sandra and Mel ? UK We have recently returned from a successful completion of the Annapurna Circuit trek accompanied by our own guide "Him Raj Adhikari" from Pokhara who provided us with excellent services throughout our trek. However we were fortunate enough whilst on trek to meet up with another mixed nationality group who were being guided by their own guide Purushotam Timalsena from Kathmandu. We were fortunate enough to spend many days in their company and we found Puru extremely helpful at all times, adding greatly to our enjoyment of the trek. He guided his group and often us as well for over 16 days at a very comfortable pace and at the same time he knew when you wanted your own space to either socialize or explore the villages alone.
Apart from ensuring a smooth functioning trek with carefully chosen lodges, this guide really cared about our wellbeing (in all respects) during the trip. Being very much interested in the their culture and religion we greatly appreciated that he were able to tell us so much about their ways of living as well as the local history, flora and fauna. In our opinion, he gave an excellent service and we ended with some real friends in Nepal. We sincerely wish him the best of luck in his trekking business!

Also, When we mentioned one evening that we wanted to travel overland through Tibet to Lhasa he made great efforts to gather the information we needed to make the trip a success. On returning to Kathmandu afterwards he arranged everything for us in difficult circumstances with the political problems at that time. We are very pleased to recommend him to others looking for a good guide".

Have a good trek. Sandra and Mel ? UK
