This short and easily reachable trek from Kathmandu for the panorama view of snow capped mountains is good choices for those who have limited 1 week to 10 days time frame in a less crowded trail with friendly local people with the spectacular scenery.

 

First part of the trek goes via Langtang Village to the Kyanjing Gomp, where we stop overnight and sample the local yak cheese. We pass through Nubamatang, nestled in a hidden valley, on our way up to view the glaciers, which mark the gateway into Tibet, trekking down Syabru and Sing Gompa to a sacred lake of Gosainkunda is an amazing walk in the high plateau.

Trekking Itinerary

Day 1:Meet at Kathmandu Airport and transfer to hotel

Day 2:Sight-seeing of Kathmandu: Full day’s sightseeing in Kathmandu valley includes the Hindu temple complex at Pashupatinath (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) & the biggest Buddhist Stupa at Boudhanath. Also visit Monkey Temple the Swyambhunath (2000 years old temple) and visit Patan city of fine arts. Return to the hotel.

Day 3:KTM – Syabru Bensi (1600m): Drive from Kathmandu to Syabru besi trekking starting point it will be 9 hours drive by bus. You will dive the bank of Trishuli River and passes terraces and green hills and you will have a majestic view of Ganesh Himal. Overnight stay at Syabru Besi.

Day 4:Syabru Bensi to Lama Hotel(2470m): climb through a variety of small villages and tracts of dense forest, The trek becomes a pleasant walk through trees where Langur monkey (The honey hunter animal) frolic,passing a sice stream and small waterfalls if you are lucky you can see red pandas, monkey and bear if you are lucky.. Stay overnight in Lama Hotel.

Day 5:Lama Hotel to Langtang village (3430m): From here short climb brings us to the right of where the Langtang valley begins as you start going up you will be able to see the beautiful view of Langtang Lirung peak. Passing a few temporary settlements used by herders who bring their livestock to graze in the high pastures during the summer months. It is easy to find yak and the wild goats wondering around you. Overnight in a lodge.

Day 6:Langtang valley to Kyanjing Gompa (3870m): The trail climbs gradually through small villages and yak pastures as the valley opens out further and the views become more extensive. After crossing several small streams and moraines, the trail reaches the settlement at Kyangjing. This is a beautiful town which provide excellent panoramic close up view of Langtang Lirung Genjempol, Ganjala and Naya Kenga Himal ranges. A visit to cheese factory, see the beautiful Buddhist Monastery built 400 years ago. It is a good experience to try to climb to Tsergo Ri (5033m)

Day 7:Rest day at Kyanjing Gompa: Explore around the glacier and Himalayan Yak pasture.

Day 8:Kynanjing Gompa to Lama Hotel (2470m) From Kyangjin you take a same route back.trek back to Langtang Khola to Langtang village and on to Ghora Tabela. After lunch, you continue the steep descent to Lama Hotel.

Day 9:Lama Hotel to Big Syabru Bensi (2260m.) the trail start with gently descent up to Landslide and then goes steeply up to Thulo Syabruon the way you can see red pandas, monkey and various species of birds. Thulo Syabru is one of the wonderful villages. From where you can enjoy the amazing land scape and have a magnificent views of Ganesh Himal (7110m.), Langtang Himal and its ranges.

Day 10:Big Syabru to Sing Gompa (3250m.) The trails follows a steeply ascent path passing through Dursagang along with the view of Langtang Himal, Ganesh Himal, oak, Hemlock and firs forests. In Sing Gompa, There is a well-managed local cheese factory and a Buddhist Monastery. If time permits, you can relax at place which is recommended for having excursion in and around Sing Gompa. It provides panoramic views, exhilarating nature and a walk in and around Yak Cheese factory.

Day 11:Sing Gompa to Gosainkunda Lake (4360m): the route begins a gently ascent to up to Lauribinayak and the top of Lauribinayak gives you a fine opportunity to see a whole mountain view from here you can see Mt Manaslu range (8156m), Mt Annapurna range (8091m) Mt Ganesh Himal range (7406m), Himal Chuli (7893m) and Langtrag Himalyan range. From here continue trek to Gosainkunda Lake one of the holy lake.

Day 12:Gosainkunda Lake to Sing Gompa (3250m): Trek down to Sing Gompa about 4 and half hour working. The trails descend all the way to Sing Gompa passing Lauribanayak with magnificent mountain views and forests.

Day 13:Sing Gompa to Dhunche (1950m): The trail begins with descend through pine, silver oak and rhododendrons forests with marijuana plants up to you cross suspension bridge over the Sing Gompa Stream. From here trail start at flat level to Dhunche.

Day 14:Dhunche to Kathmandu (1320m): Drive back to Kathmandu by bus and it takes about seven hours. It is a pleasant drive back to Kathmandu .

Day 15:Kathmandu free day, evening culture show with Nepali dinner, hotel

Day 16:Final departure, transfer to airport

Price For The Trip:

The total cost for the trek or tour you decide you want to do will depend on several different factors. The type of accommodation you prefer in Kathmandu and/or Pokhara will make a difference to the overall cost (budget to 5 star accommodation) The mode of transport you prefer will also affect the cost of your package, for example prices vary greatly between flying versus private car/van, tourist or local buses. The number of guides and/or porters required will also affect the total cost of your trek. For these reasons the same trek/tour can vary in price quite substantially.
