Langtang Gosainkunda Helambu Trek brings you to the Langtang Valley delimited by Himalayan peak of Langtang trekking region. Langtang, Gosainkunda & Helambu Trek takes you across two geographically diverse valleys looked upon by towering peaks and villages that are quiet and interesting in every way. The trekking route will go through Langtang National park which is famous for Red Panda (Ailurus fulgens). This amazing adventure combines the diversity of spectacular views of the Himalayas with a vast number of exciting ethnic encounters. You can relish magnificent views of the towering snow-covered Mt. Langtang, Mt. Dorje lakpa (6990m), Mt. Lirung (7245m) and Mt. Ganesh (7406m) peak on the Langtang Helambu Gosaikunda trek. Langtang trek is on the area of Tibetan culture and home of Yak and Helambu trek is on the area of Sherpa culture. It is great combination of mountain and culture diversity.

The Langtang Helambu trekking starts from Syabrubesi about 9 hour drive from Kathmandu and then the trail passes through the Tamang country and across different landscapes. The Langtang valley is aptly called the valley of glaciers here; mountains raise soaring toward the sky. The valley offers pine forest, swift mountain streams, rugged rock and snow-caped peaks, grassy down and meadows strewn with daises and wild animals. Trekking down Syabru and Sing Gompa to a sacred lake of Gosainkunda is an amazing walk in the high plateau. In Kyanjin Gompa you will experience the spiritual lifestyle of dedicated Buddhist monks who perform their rituals in a beautiful Monastery. Early in the morning you will ascend Tserko RI (5000m) for tremendous view of the Langtang Lirung (7200m) range.

The Langtang Gosainkunda trekking is the most famous journey to pilgrimage Gosaikunda lake where thousands of Hindu pilgrims visits during a full –moon festival in August. There are some other famous lakes near Gosainkunda such as Nagkunda, Suryakunda, Saraswatikunda and Bhairabkunda. The Helambu trek landscape is classic Himalayan foothills, with plenty of dramatic rises and plummeting descents. The valley offers pain forest, slow moving rivers and swift mountain streams, rugged rock and snow- capped peaks, grassy downs and meadows strewn with daisies and wild premolar. The Sherpa village of Tarke Ghyang that forms the focus of Helambu is a charming enclave of farmers and yak herders. Langtang Gosainkunda Helambu Trek pass through the lush valleys with stunning Himalayan views of the Langtang Himalayan region, Annapurna Himalayan range, Rolwaling Himalayan range and end at Melamchi Pul bazaar visiting the Khumbu region.

Langtang Gosainkunda Helambu Trekking Itinerary:

Day 1:Meet at Kathmandu Airport, transfer to hotel

Day 2:Sight-seeing of Kathmandu: Leave for full day sightseeing in Kathmandu valley includes the Hindu temple complex at Pashupatinath (a UNISCO world heritage site) & the biggest Buddhist Stupa at Boudhanath. Also visit Monkey Temple the Swyambhunath (2000 years old temple) and visit Patan city of fine arts. Back to hotel and stay.

Day 3:KTM – Syabru Bensi, Drive to trekking starting point. Dhunche is about 8 hour drive which provides you mointain scenery and landscape. Stay overnight there.

Day 4:Syabru Bensi to Lama Hotel climb through a variety of small villages and tracts of dense forest, The trek becomes a pleasent walk through trees where Langur monkey (The honey hunter animal) frolic,passing a sice stream and small waterfalls.stay overnight in Lama Hotel.

Day 5:Lama Hotel to Langtang: From here short climb brings us to the right of where the Langtang valley begins as you start going up you will be able to see the beautiful view of Langtang Lirung peak. It is easy to find yak and the wild goats wondering around you. Overnight in a lodge.

Day 6:Langtang valley to Kyanjing Gompa, A beautiful town which provide excellent panoramic close up view of Langtang Lirung Genjempol, Ganjala and Naya Kenga Himal ranges. A visit to cheese factory, see the beautiful Buddhist Monastery built 400 years ago. It is a good experience to try to climb to Tsergo Ri (5033m)

Day 7:Rest day at Kyanjing Gompa : Explore around the glacier and himalayan Yak pasture.

Day 8:Kynanjing Gompa to Lama Hotel, Trek down to Lama hotel, overnight in camp.

Day 9:Lama Hotel to Big Syabru Bensi

Day 10:Big Syabru Bensi to Sing Gompa

Day 11:Sing Gompa to Gosainkunda Lake. The trail to Lauri Binayak is steep & continues for three hours. Then the trail becomes much narrow & misty as well as change in vegetation too as the green vegetation becomes much deserted & rocky. From lauri Binayak takes about 3 hours to reach to Gosainkunda.

Day 12:Gosainkunda to Ghopte. After expore around at at Gosainkunda, we set for another day's walk. The walk goes through a steep trail for 2 & half an hour & crosses a pass at 4500m and the trail is too rocky. After the pass the trail becomes to descend & the slope continues for about 3 hours & reaches to Ghopte for the night halt.

Day 13:Ghopte to Tharepati (3510m). The trail continues through the forest of pine & juniper about 2 hour's slope up to Thadepati

Day 14:Tharepati- Melamchi: A short, steep descent through mixed fir and rhododendron forest rich with bird life. Crashing waterfalls sound from the rocky gullies below as you approach Melamchi

Day 15:Melamchi – Tarkegyang : The trail descends steeply to the valley floor, where you can have a well earned dip in the crystal- clear river before completing the short and mild ascent up the other side of the valley. Tarkegyang boasts an 18th century Gompa with huge brass prayer wheel.

Day 16:Tarkegyang – Sermathang : A flat pleasant walk to Shermathang for walking. This is a an entering Sherpa village and they will be happy to introduce themselves that they are different from the Sherpa of Khumbu(Everest region) In the clear day the villages provide good views of Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Gosainkunda and Rolwaling, Even Everest also in a distance.

Day 17:Melamchi drive back to Kathmandu transfer to hotel

Day 18:Kathmandu free day, evening culture show with Nepali dinner, hotel

Day 19:Final departure, transfer to airport

Price For The Trip:

The total cost for the trek or tour you decide you want to do will depend on several different factors. The type of accommodation you prefer in Kathmandu and/or Pokhara will make a difference to the overall cost (budget to 5 star accommodation) The mode of transport you prefer will also affect the cost of your package, for example prices vary greatly between flying versus private car/van, tourist or local buses. The number of guides and/or porters required will also affect the total cost of your trek. For these reasons the same trek/tour can vary in price quite substantially.
