Ghorepani Poon Hill Trekking Itinerary

Day 1: Welcome at Kathmandu Airport:
We will meet you at the Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport and transfer you to your hotel. When you have had time to settle in and freshen up after your long flight you will be invited to our office to make a visit. This visit will be on briefing about the program and managing the other necessary documentations. This will help in checking about the equipments and the necessary facilities to be provided. If you come late, this will be done at the very next morning.

Day 2: A full day sightseeing tour of Kathmandu valley:
The next morning after breakfast you will leave for a full day's tour of sightseeing around the Kathmandu valley. You will visit center of pilgrimage Pashupatinath Temple and Swyambhunath, very ancient and enlisted in UNESCO World Heritage sites. The biggest Buddhist Stupa at Boudhnath might make you feel calm and peace.  We will also visit Kathmandu Durbar Square whose fine arts and architecture sketches ancient Nepalese culture. Historic Kathmandu Durbar Square is the House of Living Goddess “Kumari” and Kasthamandap temple” Said that was built from single tree in 16th century, Big bell-Big drams, Erotic carving in old temple, old palace etc. On journey back to hotel, you can explore the local areas and famous streets enjoying the local life style.

Day 3: Flight or drive to Pokhara
After having breakfast we will take you to the Domestic Airport for a 25 minute scenic flight to Pokhara. During this short flight you will have magnificent views of the wonderful Manaslu peaks and the snow-capped Annapurna mountain range, as well as the Langtang Himalayan range. Similarly you can drive by tourist coach via scenic Prthivi highway for about 6 to 7 hour drive to Pokhara. Pokhara is a beautiful valley, with panoramic views of Annapurna, Machhapuchhare (shape of fish tail), Dhaulagiri, Lamjung Himal and Manaslu. Spend your night in hotel.

Day 4: Pokhara trek to Tikhedunga (1540m)
The first day trek start at Nayapul after 1 and half hour driving by private vehicle from Pokhara. After 20 minutes short walk along the banks of the Modi Khola, we reach Birethanti (1015m). After Birethanti, we walk along the terraced fields beneath the splendid panorama of awe-inspiring glaciated Himalayan mountain ranges. You can have a lunch at small village Sudame. Then, the trail continues following the north bank of the Bhurungdi Khola through villages and climbs steadily up the side of the valley to Hille (1495m). Past waterfalls with plunge pools that invite you to swim. After lunch cross the Modi Khola River via a suspension bridge to the village of Tikhedhunga.

Day 5: Tikhedunga trek to Ghorepani (2840m)
After breakfast, we begin our journey with a steep climb to large Magar village at Ulleri (2070m) after crossed bridge. The trail crosses the Tikhedunga Khola on a suspension bridge and then drops to Bhurungdi Khola. You will walk whole day through dense forest of Rhododendron, oak trees and bamboo grooves enjoying the chipping birds and butterflies. Then we trek towards Nangethanti (2460m), after an hour walk we arrive at Ghorepani. We stop at the higher part of the Ghorepani village. The place provides majestic views of Dhaulagiri I (8167m), Tukuche Peak Nilgiri (6940m), Annapurna South, Annapurna I (8091m), Hiunchuli (6441m) and Tarke Kang (7193m) and other mountains.

Day 6: Ghorepani trek to Poonhill to Tadapani (2710m)
We will hike about 45 minutes to Poon Hill (3210m) early in the morning. Poon Hill (3,210m) is a great viewpoint from where we will be able to enjoy wonderful panoramic high Himalayas with panoramic view giants Dhaulagiri (8,167m), Annapurna (8,091m), Machhapuchhare, Nilgiri, Hiunchuli, South Annapurna etc. along with a network of other peaks. Climb to the Deurali pass for a spectacular panorama over Dhaulagiri and the Annapurna. A short early morning climb to the Deurali pass for a spectacular panorama over Dhaulagiri and the Annapurna. Trail descends steeply via Banthanti through dense moss-covered forest rich with bird life to Tadapani which provides you a close up sunset views of Annapurna, Hiunchuli and Machhapuchhare. Spend your night in guesthouse.

Day 7: Tadapani trek to Ghandruk (1940m)
After breakfast the trail starts with steep downhill through rhododendron forests and terrace fields. We will be pleasantly surprised by the sight of some cherry blossoms in bloom on the slopes on the other side of the ravine. After trekking some more minutes, we enter the village of Ghandruk, a slope settlement with stone houses mostly inhabited by the Gurung people. Most of the male from this village are the members of brave Gorkha Armies of Britain and India. An ideal vantage point in this pristine village offers breathtaking views of Annapurna South, Gangapurna, Annapurna III, Machhapuchhare and Hiunchuli. Spend your night in this village.

Day 8: Ghandruk Trek to Birethanti (1065m) drive to Pokhara
Today is our last day of trekking. Today the trail passes through small hamlets, terraced rice fields and subtropical forests with giving the glimpse of like in the mountains. The trek is downhill all the way to Birethanti. We step onto a staircase paved with stone slabs, curving in and out of the village and then terraced farms. We complete our trek in Nayapul at elevation of 1010 meters, short and easy walking through the terraces hill settlement. Then drive 1 and half hour by private vehicle followed by a ride back to Pokhara.

Day 9: Pokhara to Kathmandu:
Drive or take a flight to Kathmandu. It is 25 minutes flight to Kathmandu or 6 to 7 hour drive by tourist coach, evening join Nepali cultural dinner show, overnight at hotel.

Day 10: Final departure
Today is the last day of the trek. We will transfer you to international airport for your final departure.

We can make the trek shorter by taking a flight to Pokhara and start the trek in same day  there are flight from morning to mid afternoon to Pokhara, similarly you can spend more days in Pokhara also, you can do the trek shorter or longer as per your time table and fitness level. The total cost for the trek or tour you decide you want to do will depend on several different factors. The type of accommodation you prefer in Kathmandu and/or Pokhara will make a difference to the overall cost (budget to 5 star accommodation) The mode of transport you prefer will also affect the cost of your package, for example prices vary greatly between flying versus private car/van, tourist or local buses. The number of guides and/or porters required will also affect the total cost of your trek. For these reasons the same trek/tour can vary in price quite substantially.
