Everest Base CampThe Everest Base Camp trek is one of the most popular trekking package in the Himalayas and is visited by thousands of trekkers each year. This two weeks treks to Everest base camp takes you to the land of Sherpas with following the footsteps of Tenzing Hillary, Tilman and other pioneers of the Himalayas. The Everest Trekking has been calling out to trekkers and climbers since its first expeditions to the Nepalese side of Everest in the 1953 after that the trails that climb through the foothills of the world’s highest mountain still offer some of the most challenging trekking in Nepal.


The trekking to Everest base camp has been extensively developed for trekking with well maintained trails and plenty of guest houses. Solukhumbu is homeland for the Sherpa people who gain the good reputation for their skills for trekking and climbing to the mountains. The Buddhist monuments of the Sherpas-Stupas Chortens and the Gompas (monasteries) mirror the towering landscape all around and the Sagarmath Nationalal parks is rich with flora and fauna, rare species, such as the snow leopard and the lesser panda.


To start the trek we will fly to Lukla a tiny airstrip from Kathmandu, from here the trails goes though Phakding and follow the Dudh koshi valley with the climbing up to Namche Bazaar a busting town of Sherpa People,. All day, we pass villages interspersed with magnificent forest- rhododendron, waterfalls, magnolia trees and giant firs. The train heads to Tengboche from Namche, the trail rises through meadows where graze yak. After we reach the sandy plain of Gorakshep, Then we climb up amongst large boulders to the broad summit of Kalapathar (5,545m) one of the Mountain View point on the earth, including many high Himalayas views with Mt Everest, Lhotse and Nuptse including the fantastic views of the south west face of the colossal Mt. Everest . From here we will trek down to Everest Base Camp at the foot of the Khumbu ice fall, Everest Base Camp Trek will end at Lukla and fly out to Kathmandu.

Everest base camp trek itinerary details:

Day 1: Meet at Kathmandu Airport and transfer to hotel:
We will meet you at the Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport and transfer you to your hotel. When you have had time to settle in and freshen up after your long flight, you will be invited to visit our office for a briefing about your program. During this visit we will help you check your equipment and facilitate the processing of other necessary items such as National Park Permits etc.

Day 02: A full days sightseeing tour of Kathmandu valley.
After you have had your breakfast we will take you on a sightseeing tour around the Kathmandu valley. You will visit the Hindu temple complex at Pashupatinath (a UNESCO World Heritage site) & the biggest Buddhist Stupa at Boudhanath. You will also visit Swyambhunath, also known as the Monkey Temple, a 2000 year old temple, a visit to Patan City will enchant you with its famous fine arts and historical architecture. Evening meeting with your trekking guide and checking all necessary things, overnight at hotel.

Day 03: Flight from KTM – Lukla and Trekking to Phakding (2652m) 3 - 4 hour : After having a 40 minute scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, the Everest Base Camp journey begins from Lukla and continues to Phakding, which takes approximately 3 hours. Along the way you will have a view of Mt Nupla (5885m) Kusum Kangaru (6367m) and the Mount Kwongde Range. Overnight in Phakding (2,652m).

Day 04: Phakding trekking to Namche Bazaar (3,440m) 5-6 hour:
Beginning with a slight climb to Jhorsalle, the trail passes waterfalls and other culturally and naturally occurring items of interest. During the day, we will pass through Sherpa villages and magnificent forests. The Rhododendron trees (Laligurans, National flower of Nepal) Magnolia trees and giant firs provide a breathtaking backdrop to this part of the trek. Along the way to you will be rewarded with your first glimpse of Kusum Kangru (6369m) Thamserku (6608m) Everest (8848m) and Nuptse (7879 m). (Weather Permitting) A steep climb up to the beautiful village of Namche bazaar (3440m) will afford you further spectacular views and a comfortable place to spend the second night of the trek.

Day 05: Acclimatization day in Namche ( 3440m) .
Acclimatization is most important before proceeding to a higher elevation. It is therefore recommended that you take a short days hike to Thame, Khunde, Khumjung or up to Everest view hotel which provide a very close up view of Mt Everest or relax and explore the Sherpa culture of Namche.

Day 06: Namche Bazaar trekking to Tengboche (3,867m) 5 - 6 hour:
After walking one hour you will arrive in Phungithanga. From there the trail climbs through forests where you can spot musk deer. Tengboche sits on a saddle at 3870m in a clearing surrounded by dwarf firs and Rhodadendrons. Kwongde (6187m) Tawache(6542m) Everest (8848m) Nuptse (7855m) Lhotse (8618m) Amadablam (6856m) Thamserku (6608m) provide and inspiring panorama of Himalayan giants. We visit the Bhuddist Monastery at Tengboche, the largest in Khumbu region.

Day 07: Tenghoche trekking to Dingboche (4360m) 5 – 6 hours:
In the morning views of mountain and monasteries are spectacular in Tengboche, We descent most of the morning in the the Imjatse Khola, through the forest of birches conifers and rhododendrons. As we follow the river northward the trails pass through several chortens and mani walls and small villages. On the way we will have best view of Ama.Dablam. On arrival at Dingboche, we enjoy the beautiful array of fields enclosed by stone walls to protect the barley, buckwheat and potatoes The views are great from Dingboche, we can see Island Peak, Makalu and another face of Amadablam,. Overnight in Dingboche

Day 08: Rest day in Dingboche for the acclimatization (4360m):
Again walking up and then coming back down is better than just resting in high altitude, a short hike 400 m climb to the Nangkartshang Gompa on the ridge north of Dingboche, from Nangkartshang good view os Makalau (8463 me) alternately we can follow an epic trail along the Imja Khola to Chhukung this can be longer 4 to5 hour walking

Day 09: Dingboche Trekking to Lobuche (4940m) 5 hour:
We continue our journey from Dingboche through the high alpine region to the conclusion of Luboche and stay overnight. On the way to Lobuche we cross the glacial frozen river at Thukla and climb up hill, watching magnificent view of Cholatse, Lobuche, Pumori and Nuptse. Overnight at Lobuche

Day 10: Lobuche to Gorak Shep (5170m), trekking to Everest Base camp (5364m)back to Gorakshep 7 – 8 hour: The first section of the trail from Lobuche follows the narrow gap between the glacial moraine and the mountain wall then crosses tributary glaciers to reach the dry lake bed of Gokrak Shep. Stopping for lunch at Gorekshep, after we walk to Everest Base Camp and explore the area famous for so many climbing expeditions to Mt Everest. The Base Camp area provides an opportunity to experience the freezing and harsh conditions that mountaineers brave to summit this famous mountain. After exploring the Everest Base Camp, trekking back to Gorakshep

Day 11: Gorak Shep trekking to Kala Patthar (5545m) trekking back to Pheriche (4280 m) 7-8 hrs:
We start early in the morning as mornings are usually sparkling and clear and best time to climb the Kalapathar, this is the highlight of the trekking, we will be rewarded the 360 degree dramatic panorama views of Mt Everest and surroundings mountains, On being back to Gorak Shep, we have breakfast followed by a gradual descend down to Pheriche for a good night's rest. Overnight in Pheriche. (B,L,D)

Day 12: Pheriche Trekking to Namche Bazaar via Pangboche and Tengboche: 6-7 hour:
We will trek down through the hillside blanketed by rhododendron and juniper trees. If it's spring, pink and red rhododendron flowers ablaze our surroundings from Tengboche the trail goes down to Phunki Thanga, from here mostly the trail goes through the pine forests and have chance to see the wild life like mountain goats, snow leopard and colorful pheasants, finally we will arrive at Namche for overnight stay.

Day 13: Namche Bazaar trekking back to Lukla (2850m) 6-7 hour:
Today the trail descends steeply downward before crossing the suspension bridges on Dudh Koshi River. From here the trail becomes more level and natural. We will work though rhododendron and pine forests with the view of distance snow covered peak before arriving Phakding after lunch continue trekking to Lukla. Our last night with your trekking  team remains memorable.

Day 14: Flight from Lukla - KTM, Saying goodbye to our porters, we board our flight and make the exciting one-hour flight back to Kathmandu. If the flight is under schedule, we are likely to be back at our hotel before noon and you can have good shower and afternoon rest.

Day 15: Today you will be free to spend the afternoon shopping, It's also spare day in case of bad weather in Lukla which makes the Lukla flight delayed and cancel. In the evening you can enjoy a typical Nepalese dinner and cultural show.

Day 16: Depart Kathmandu: If you are leaving Nepal and not continuing your holiday here in Nepal, we will take you to the Kathmandu Airport to catch your flight home. Our staff will oversee your safe and timely arrival at the Tribhuvan International Terminal and help you arrange your last minute departure details.

The total cost for the trek or tour you decide you want to do will depend on several different factors. The type of accommodation you prefer in Kathmandu and/or Pokhara will make a difference to the overall cost (budget to 5 star accommodation) The mode of transport you prefer will also affect the cost of your package, for example prices vary greatly between flying versus private car/van, tourist or local buses. The number of guides and/or porters required will also affect the total cost of your trek. For these reasons the same trek/tour can vary in price quite substantially.
