DAY 01:Fly to Paro; Transfer to Thimphu 2350m: in a clear day the panoramic views of the Himalaya are sensational, including Everest, but particularly exciting is the approach through the Bhutanese foothills and the landing, including a few steep turns to land at the tiny airstrip of Paro. In Paro you will be received by your Bhutanese guide and transferred to Thimphu. Sightseeing in Thimphu includes the visit of Late King\'s Memorial Chorten, Changangkha Lhakhang, Zangtopleri Lhakhang, Drubthob Nunnery, takin preserve, the handmade paper factory, the school of arts and crafts where young students learn the traditional arts and crafts (Zo Rig Chusum – the thirteen crafts), Gold and the Silver Smiths workshop and the Handicraft Emporium and the local handicraft centers to see the weavers at work and also varieties of textiles, thangkha paintings, masks, jewellery etc.

DAY 02: Full Day Sightseeing in Thimpu 2350m: Morning Visit Pangri Zampa Monastery, situated just beyond Dechencholing Palace (5kms from Thimphu). This temple was the first residence of Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal when he arrived in Bhutan in 1616 A.D. It was built during the first quarter of the 16th century by Ngawang Chogyel, the great ancestor of the Shabdrung, After noon Visit the Memorial Chorten, a huge stupa built in memory of the third King who reigned from 1952 - 1972. Visit the National Library where ancient manuscripts are preserved. Visit the Painting School where traditional art is still preserved. Artists are taught to paint Thankas here (sacred Buddhist scroll). Visit the Handicrafts Emporium where one can buy Bhutanese textiles and other arts and crafts.
Day 03: Thimpu to Paro visit Taktsang (Tiger Nest Monastery)
After breakfast, drive back to Paro. In Paro visit Tiger's Nest
Monastery (Taktsang) and Farm House.
After breakfast drive to Paro from thimpu and Hike to Taktsang: Drive to north of Paro town for about ½ hr and embark on a trek to the famed Taktsang (Tiger's lair) monastery. Taktsang monastery is located on the
face of a 1,000m seemingly impossible sheer, vertical cliff, above Paro valley
Legend has it that this Cliffside was where Guru Rinpoche landed on the back of a flying tigress, bringing the Buddhism to Bhutan from Tibet in eight century. The hike is for three hours climb via cafeteria to the Tiger’s nest view point. Descend down and climb up to monastery passing the water fall. Visit the monastery for the offering and get the blessing from viewing the important site and relics. In the afternoon drive up to Drukgyel dzong which was built in seventeenth century to celebrate the Bhutanese victory over Tibetan invasion and also to control the trade route towards south. It is in ruin after the fire in 1951.
DAY 04: final departure: After taking breakfast, we transfer you to the airport to connect Druk Air flight to Kathmandu or on your onward destination.

Away from town, you may find it tempting to camp outside in the forest or make a night halt at the purpose-built in cabins sprinkled along some main trekking routes.
